Spitak Medical Union was founded in 1938. As a result of the earthquake in 1988, the hospital building was completely destroyed.
In October 1989, the Norwegians built and put into operation the new medical union building.
In 1997 the medical unit was reorganized into "Spitak Central Hospital" CJSC.
In 2007 "Spitak Polyclinic" and "Spitak Central Hospital" were united and become "Spitak Medical Center" CJSC.
Now only high-quality specialists work at "Spitak Medical Center" CJSC. It is equipped with modern equipment, and medical tools and has the following departments: Infectious Diseases, General Somatic, Surgical, Obstetric-Gynecological Departments, Ambulance Service, Laboratory-Instrumental /Diagnostic / Diagnostic, Ambulatory-Polyclinic Service.
The head of "Spitak Medical Center" is Arsen Mkrtchyan.
